The church is situated in a picturesque location, on the right side of the Otinja River, on the southern side below the Isar Fortress. It was built with patronage by the local landowner Ivanko Jovan Probishtikjovich in 1350, at a time when the area formed part of the Zemljiste of the Despot Oliver. The church was single-nave and fresco-painted, but today only the remains of parts of the fragments are visible. A fragment of the fresco of Tsar Constantine with Tsarina Helena is located at the entrance, on the southern wall of the church. Another fragment is on the northern wall. It is likely that over time the church was abandoned for a long period and was no longer in use.
